“MELANIA” - MINI-REVIEW
How is director Brett Ratner’s Amazon-produced documentary about the First Lady?

HOW THE HELL SHOULD I KNOW?!
Ya know, even though it is made by a canceled director who, I admit, has made some movies that I’ve genuinely loved, and even if it were absolutely revelatory and amazing with second-to-none film craft, I only have… gosh… mayyyyyybe another 50 years left on this planet, if I’m lucky? So not only do I not have TIME to watch this, but she is also married to… well, someone who has occupied our minds, thoughts and conversations over the last 10 years just like his private goon police is occupying American cities (like mine) right now.
Look. My moniker MOVIE FRIEND (bestowed upon me by my good friend Michele Waldsmith) is meant for a couple things: I’m a friend who recommends movies that I like, but I am also a friend of the movie itself. Needless to say, this movie is no friend of mine, and as your friend, I would not recommend you see it. Even if you are remotely curious, I promise you, your curiosity will not be rewarded. There are new seasons of BRIDGERTON and SHRINKING right now. Watch those instead. OR, check out my website, linked in the comments, for movie recommendations.
It’s on track to lose $75 million, and that’s all right with me!
MELANIA opens in theaters today (which also happens to coincide with a nationwide general strike, so put your hard-earned money where it belongs, which is just right there in your little pocket).
